Big Dam Bridge Tour 100

Big Dam Bridge Tour 100.

On Saturday September 24th the Big Dam Bridge Tour 100 will once again come through our city.  I know there will be some inconveniences associated with this event, but it is a great thing for the community at large.  This year there is a possibility that Hwy 89 N will be closed from the Hwy 365-89N intersection to North Railroad Street.  This closure will be from 8:30 AM until approximately 11:00 AM.  We will detour traffic onto Center Street, Gandy Lane, North Railroad and South Railroad during this time.  The detour will be clearly marked and we ask for your cooperation and patience during this time.

The First United Methodist Church in Mayflower  will be available to service the 50 -100 mile riders.  This is the third aid station on the route.  We expect to have roughly 700 – 800 stop at this station in a very compressed time frame.

About 8 – 10 Volunteers will be needed.

Our homemade cookies have become legendary with the participants of this event and we do not expect this year to be any different.

Notice from Alliance about cable

    Alliance Communications    Network

P.O. Box 960

Greenbrier, AR 72058

501-679-6619

Mayor Holland and

Mayflower Residence,

This letter is to give you an update on our plans to upgrade our video service, offer High Speed Internet Services and improve quality and reliability to our current/future Alliance cable subscribers in Mayflower, Arkansas.

Presently we are removing cable lines in areas around Mayflower that had miles of cable plant and very few cable customers to support our on-going operating cost for; powering, pole attachment rental and maintenance/up keep. The subscribers affected by this decision, in those locations, were notified in advance of their services being discontinued as of June 20th, 2011. This process should be completed by the end of July.

Our plans are to build fiber optic cable from our Greenbrier facilities to Mayflower, upgrade the electronics and replace worn/damaged cable lines. Once this is completed we will have the capability of offering additional channels of programming such as; Home & Garden, ESPNU, ESPN Classic, TV-Land, Hallmark Channel, Sportsman Channel, Food Network, Lifetime Movie Network and more.

High Speed Internet will also be available and will allow you to choose 3/5/8-Meg service at affordable rates.

We anticipate this upgrade process will be completed no later than the end of this year. There will be times during this upgrade that cable signals will be interrupted as we replace plant and electronics, this should be minimal and done at times that it has limited effect on our viewers.

As we get close to the completion we will notify the residence of Mayflower of the date these new services will be added and appreciated everyone’s understanding in this matter.

We do not anticipate any increase in the monthly service rates at this time. We will however have promotional offers for non-cable subscribers and for the launch of our “High-Speed” internet services. This information will be made available as we near the completion of this upgrade.

When completed, Mayflower’s Alliance Subscribers will have cable and internet services that we all can be proud of.
