Code Enforcement

Code Enforcement Report

by Carl Rossini and Richard Burt

I appreciate everyone’s  response to clean up their properties and keep them maintained throughout the year.  There are still some issues being addressed by our department.  Some of these property owners do not live in the area or are out of state and it requires a little more time to contact them.  Some property owners are elderly or handicap and cannot physically do the work.  So if you know someone that might need some help, be a good neighbor and offer some ideas or assistance.

Richard Burt has been hired as part-time Code Enforcement Officer.  He comes to the City with 20+ years experience and has already been a tremendous help in enforcing city ordinances pertaining to yard maintenance issues.

YARD SALES: City Ordinance requires that a permit be purchased before having a yard sale.  These permits are $5.00 each and can be purchased at City Hall Monday—Thursday between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.  Rules and regulations for the posting of signs advertising the yard sale are also available.  The City does not allow any signs to be placed on street signs, power poles, or in front of the Welcome Sign Park at Hwy 365 and 89 South.
